The computer has had a massive overhaul and is all better! So normal service is resumed, if only humans could be mended as easily. Above is the veg plot in its splendid box frame ready for Grow Your Own at the Guild next month.Below are pictures of the Rococo Gardens at Painswick. Today is the last day over at Quenington and if you enjoyed that, you will love this garden complete with garden buildings, maze and pigeon house. It is a huge garden set in a valley with sculpture trail for this summer. If you can't get there here are some pictures to give you a flavour.

Miniature veg garden in stitch.
The miniature veg plot is finished. some of the scale is not quite right, I mean those carrots are enormous compared to the runner beans on the trellis. It must be the compost. It was fiddly to make, but fun. It will need a box frame so I will lace it onto board and then go and see the framer.

veg garden update 2.
Leeks and Curly Kale in. There is an odd lettuce in the courgette patch and the path has more weeds. The next stage is to transfer onto another fabric and pad the raised beds. That will have to wait until I finish sorting and packing the work for Quenington. I have to finish the back of the Field Book too. Deadlines to meet (but just as well or nothing would get finished)

miniature veg garden in stitch-update.
Now there is a courgette patch and some beetroot in the latest veg garden. The weeds keep growing around the path and one of the courgettes has been left too long and grown into a marrow- that always happens in our garden!

Miniature vegetable garden in stitch.
Trying out my new camera that I had for my birthday. I have got the date stamp on it so will have to change that! Anyway I am making a miniature veg garden for an exhibition at the Guild Gallery in August called Grow your Own. First came the cabbages now I am planting carrots. It is fun to make something quite bonkers for a change.I intend to work the embroidery and then make a raised bed.
This is one I made a few years back complete with trellis so you get the idea.

In the summer garden.
A little look around our garden in very welcome sunshine. All, well most gardens in the Cotswolds are on slopes, ours slopes upwards. The miniature garden
on the steps.
A new pot for this one it has transplanted beautifully, the old pot was frost damaged last winter.
The new patio
and pond in progress.
Yesterday it was the big butterfly count- red admiral on hemp agrimony at the top of the garden. All these things, the colours, textures and sights are inspirational for my stitching work.
That is outside! In the studio, more work on the Skomer page.

Beetles - sketches and stitched.
These are from 2010 but a friend asked for some pictures to show to a budding entomologist who is nearly 3. We were remembering AA. Milnes poem Alexander Beetle.I made lots of boxes some paper some stitched with wee beasties inside.
The real thing! A bloody nosed beetle.

garden chafer
One of the pictures at the exhibition ( going up tomorrow) is of the garden chafer beetle. I found my old insect sketchbook from 2010 above. The garden was full of them a few days ago.
A bee that did manage to bumble inside.
