Perpetual Journal for January. As you can see I have been mostly drawing birds this month. The weather has been very cold and not much foliage to draw. This year has been more about wishing for signs of Spring. In strict lockdown with horrendous numbers of deaths and new cases of Covid it has been a grim month. Thank goodness for drawing and stitching and our daily walks. If you scroll down you will see a new work in progress using these drawings as inspiration for stitch. More detail and daily progress on Instagram. Love to you all out there, keep on going on. My husband is to have his first jab on Saturday, every person I hear of having their jabs is a little bit more hope. x
Your work looks like professional wildlife illustrations - just wonderful
ReplyDeletewow thank you Beth!
Deletelove how your journal is getting so full with the passage of time and your translations of the drawings to stitch on cloth are stunning
ReplyDelete|Thank you Mo, it is lovely to see the journal fill up.
DeleteLove to see your journal every time, Louise :-)
ReplyDeleteThat white bird cloth is growing nicely
Thank you Els.
DeleteLove your birds Louise and no idea why but they seem somehow more hopeful than foliage - they cheer me very much! Love where the work in progress sis, and where it is headed, just stunning! Sorry for the grimness of your times - and hoping that Spring's daffodils are soon bobbing your way.
ReplyDeleteThank you Fiona, I think it is the busy cheerfulness of the birds that keeps me going. In for a cold snap right now here but those daffs won't be long.Meanwhile I have some from the shops to brighten my day.
DeleteYour work is so beautiful Louise. One day would you show your journals as I would be love to see them. I am not on instagram any more as no smartphone so miss your regular postings. Love them Lizzi
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Lizzi, I have been putting my journal pages on this blog for at least a year. You can use the link perpetual journal to look through. I am intending to show my journals at Rodmarton Manor with the Guilds big show in September, if not before. At any rate you will definitely get to turn the pages sometime when we can all meet again. The Guild were having meet the maker days at Chapel Arts that is another possibility when I have had my jab! Thanks so much for your praise- it means a lot.
