January.

January- a time of dark, cold and illnesses. Been feeling tired all the time and aching in all my muscles. Just a time to take comfort in small things. Tea in your favourite mug, spring bulbs beginning to emerge and a little bit of stitching.
At Westonbirt Aboretum the witch hazel is in flower and while we were looking at it, a tiny goldcrest came and flitted in and out- too quick for my camera but a real pleasure.
We hit the jackpot at the bird hide at Westonbirt too. They had just been fed and there were dozens of small birds, a woodpecker and this jay. All you get is reflections in the photos but this gives you an idea. My colourful mittens featured in the top left reflection!
We have been enjoying Alans Christmas present a wildlife camera - triggered by movement. Here is a fox.
Not sure if this will work on blogger but worth a try. Just keep your spirits up for a little longer and spring will be here.

  1. I am so envious of all the emerging bulbs. We are months from that. We have been getting snow every other day. 3-6 Inches today and 4-8 on Saturday/Sunday. It seems relentless and at the same time I am mourning the fires in Australia, so hot and dry. I enjoyed your wildlife camera and the deer was viewable on Insta. Enjoy your tea and know soon your yard will be filled with flowers!

    1. We long for the spring flowers so I can't imagine an even longer wait and so much snow. I have lots of bulbs on the windowsill emerging, that helps to keep the winter blues away.

  3. I like your stitching in the top photo. The witch hazel is so nice. We have a small one that has a mind of its own as to when to bloom (or not). I agree with Mo about your birds.

  5. As reported by Stanford Medical, It is indeed the ONLY reason this country's women live 10 years longer and weigh an average of 42 pounds less than we do.

(And really, it is not related to genetics or some secret-exercise and EVERYTHING around "how" they are eating.)

BTW, What I said is "HOW", not "what"...
