I am working to finish the puffin page. The birds were nesting amongst a carpet of white daisies,
that smelt like mayweed or chamomile but was larger than chamomile. I don't know what it is and couldn't find it in my plant books or on the Skomer website.
Anyone know?
love the photo of the greedy puffin with a beak full of fish and those wild sea daisies, the foliage does look a lot like chamomile!
ReplyDeleteIt had bigger flowers with more petals than ordinary chamomile and grew abundantly. The puffin has a serrated beak so it can hold lots of sand eels to feed a chick, they seem to have a worried expression on their faces. Maybe because they sometimes have trouble finding their own burrows in the busy colony!
