Goldfinch in progress.

The third bird on this long piece is a goldfinch. They are so delightful to watch on the bird feeders ( nyjer and sunflower seeds) They sit either side of a feeder like love birds or colourful clowns with their white buttons on black, down their backs. A group of them is a charm of goldfinches. It is time to get this winter piece finished as all the spring flowers are now appearing.

  1. I've just started reading Birds, Art, Life by Kyo Maclear ... which promises to echo your close, careful observations of birds reiterated in stitch

    1. Thanks I will look out for that. Observations in Nature is where I find my peace and calm. It came as a sudden revelation the first time- there is nowhere else I would rather be and a deep feeling of calm and content spread over me.
