Spots and stripes.

Last week I found a scrap of tape with spots on that I love and have used every inch of in the past and not seen again in the shops. So I made a card with a guinea fowl feather with a spotty theme. This week, lo and behold I found some striped red legged partridge feathers so am in the process of making a companion card.
Also working on the field map piece slowly. Herringbone stitch is hedge, long running stitch -road.

Feathers for Nature in Art.

My postcard for a fundraising exhibition for Nature in Art, Twigworth near Gloucester. It is a marvelous museum with a wonderful collection of paintings, sculpture, contemporary exhibitions all on the theme of Nature. They are hoping for over 300 A5 postcards to be exhibited April 24th- June 3rd. You buy a ticket for £30 and wait to see which card you have won. My feathers are pheasant, peacock and goldfinch. Please support the museum, if you have never been there it is well worth a visit - good cafe and they have artists in residence working there.

Jay feather.

A grey day, with a little patch of light. A gift. ( 20cms x 11cms)
This tiny feather from a jay was a gift. I started working on it before and during the exhibition. All hand stitched and begun by putting coloured fabrics together in a small strip - inspired by Jude Hill at Spirit Cloth. Finished now and I will be away for a week. Going to the seaside. Now where are those binoculars........
